36 weeks.

So we are getting closer and closer to the end.  Things are coming together and now to think that we have around 4 weeks until our little buddy is here with us.  On Friday, we had our 36 week check.  This is a milestone because now we go on a weekly basis.  This was a bit of a more involved appointment, but without going into too many details, I will share some of the highlights.

~Baby A is still sitting extremely high.  I could tell you this just by what I feel, but as my doc says, I have a never-ending uterus that is up in my lungs and heart.  It will be quite the relief when I can breathe again. :)
~I am already 1 cm dilated.  Like I said to my doc, that means 9 more to go.  Which just reassures the point that this is a process that is on its way!

Besides that things are going well.  We finalized my long-term sub this week and now it is just gathering and preparing for her to take over.  She is an awesome sub that is in my room quite a bit, so I will not be worried at all with her taking over.

The only thing that is not going so well at the moment is that I am battling allergies and a head cold.  This is making it even more difficult to sleep, but hopefully it doesn't stick around too long.  Here is an update on stats...I will have Kyle take a picture later to post.

How far Along: 36 weeks + 1 day
Size of baby: Baby A is most likely 6 1/2 pounds
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I have gained about 28 pounds
Maternity Clothes: A combination of maternity and non-maternity clothing.
Gender: BOY!
Movement: Lots of movement.  He seems to like to see how far he can stick his butt out--which can be quite painful.
Sleep: Not the easiest thing in the world right now.
What I miss: sleeping on my stomach.
Cravings: Chocolate Frosty
Symptoms: By the end of the day, my body is sore all over.
Best Moment of the last couple weeks: Installing the car seat. :)

34+ weeks

I promise I try not to be a complete failure.  But it seems as though life has gotten in the way of blogging for almost a month now.  Lots has happened, so I will try to fill everyone in.

I will officially be 35 weeks on Saturday.  We have been headed to the doctor every two weeks but starting next Friday it will be a weekly adventure.  We are two classes away from completing Childbirth Class and have already completing Breastfeeding Class (which probably was Kyle's favorite...NOT).  Things have been going extremely well.  As of last week's appointment our doctor shared that everything was excellent.  The heart beat continues to be strong in the 150s and my tummy is measuring the right length.  It is crazy to look back at pictures when I though I was big compared to now, and I am pretty sure that I am not done growing.  Here is a look:

How far Along: 34 weeks + 5 days
Size of baby: Baby A is just over 5 pounds
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I have gained about 22 pounds
Maternity Clothes: A combination of maternity and non-maternity clothing.
Gender: BOY!
Movement: Lots of movement, especially in the evenings. We call it the nightly dance party.
Sleep: Much harder lately.  I wake a lot and frequently can't get comfortable.
What I miss: sleeping on my stomach.
Cravings: Milk
Symptoms: By the end of the day, my body is sore all over.
Best Moment of the last couple weeks: Everything...I can't decide on one thing.  We are enjoying every moment of things right now, because we know our life is changing soon.

Also, we had another shower hosted by Kyle's aunts and sister.  The Kruizenga and Jensen families were well-represented, and Baby A got lots of great things.  Here is a quick glance at the day (I still need to get all the pictures for my own file):

Thanks Kirsten!  Butt paste is important. :)

Great-Grandpa Lyle made Baby A a cradle.

The rocking chair that was once Kyle's mom's will now serve Baby A.
