Week 2

January 8- enjoying standing at all times

January 9- this is the look when bananas come out. Excitement!

January 10- bath time is so much fun

January 11- blueberries are delicious

January 12- play time concentration. No worries we "dance" when the music plays!

January 13- big day playing with daddy- time to sleep!

January 14- my new Toms are delicious!

Week one

So, another 2012 goal is to complete a project 365. So here goes.

Jan.1- rung in the new year with some ice skating at the cabin

Jan.2- completed some great relaxation before 2012 really got going

Jan.3- the beginning of work 2012

Jan.4- Adrian spent some quality time with his farm animals

Jan.5-the cowboys, uncle Nate and Adrian

Jan.6- some great laughs with Papa Jim

Jan.7- Adrian can now pull himself up!

Welcome to 2012!!

I know that it has been a while, but as the New Year is here...things are a changing.  Kyle and I took some time away to the cabin for the weekend and set our goals for the next year.  In the next couple of posts I will outline what my aspirations are for the year....and then the plan is to keep you updated.  I hope for the best!!

To start off, here is my 2012 book list for what I plan to read.  The list is made up of books that are sitting on my shelf begging to be read and also books that have been recommended to me. There may be changes but Kyle and I are planning on doing a marriage/parenting book each month and then I have 2 other books.

Cloth Diapers--Prefolds, Snappi, and Thirsties

As promised in an earlier post, here is some information (the beginning of many posts) about the cloth diapers that we use.  We love our cloth diapers and Adrian seems to enjoy them also.  We use a variety of brands, and most likely will try out others at times--but this is what we use now.

Prefolds, Snappi, and Thirsties covers:
~These are what we use on a daily basis, and during the day.  Prefolds are easy to use and can be found in many places.  I got a few packs for gifts during baby showers from Target.  They come in a 10 pack for around $12.  But any prefold diaper should work. :)  In order to fasten the prefold, we use the Snappi fastener.  These are easy to use and remind me of the metal clips that Ace Bandages use, although these are plastic. The Thirsties covers then go over the top of everything and are sized covers but they go a long way.  We are currently in XS covers, but I can see us using these for quite a while yet.  Who knows though!  You can also choose any color covers that you want, which makes your baby quite stylish.  We have 2 covers, and since the prefold catches all of the waste there isn't much need for too many more.  Every once in a while Adrian will "blow-out" of his prefold but the Thirsties have always caught it, which means our clothes have never gotten dirty.  The nice thing about the Thirsties is that when they do get dirty, a quick wipe with a rag quickly cleans them up.

4th of July.

Adrian got to enjoy his first 4th of July this year.  We traveled up to Nana and Papa's cabin to celebrate for a long weekend.  He was a rockstar in the car both ways and did a great job throughout the weekend.  Adrian also got the privilege to have 4 of his Grandparents with to celebrate--they all enjoyed cuddling with him and the Grandma's got feed him early every morning.  I don't know who enjoyed it more--Adrian or the Grandma's.  :)  Here are some pictures from the weekend:

**FYI--this post has taken 3 separate times of writing.  life seemed to get in the way, so ignore the delay!**

On Sunday (July 10th), Adrian turned two months old!  Crazy!  He is the sweetest boy and we are having a blast with him.  This morning, he had his first set of shots at the doctor, he cried a bit but then was calm and almost asleep by the time we got to the car.  We will see how it plays out though.  Here are some updates about the man.

~He weighs in at a whopping 9 lbs. 7 oz.  (5th percentile). 
~He is 23 1/4 inches long. (25th percentile)
~He greatly enjoys his mobile and his "friends" that sing to him above his changing table.
~He loves taking baths.
~We get smiles frequently and at times he will giggle.
~He likes sitting in his bouncer and playing on his floor mat.
~When on his tummy he can lift his head and shoulders.
~He frequently wants to "talk" to us.
~He greatly enjoys watching what is going on around him.
~He likes to stand up and at times when given your fingers in his fists, he can pull himself up.
~He continues to eat like a champ.
~He is making great progress at sleeping through the night. (Currently 5 hour chunks overnight)
~He is wearing 0-3 month clothes.  (They are a bit big, but they work.)
~He enjoys "wow-ing" the ladies, and gets many admirers when out in public and at church.
